In regards to Jackson the bottom line is that news reports what sells. He is a big selling point soldiers captured are not. The 'bottom line' is the profit 'bottom line'. End of the day media is a lucrative business and they want to make as much money as possible...telling real news that makes no money...hey...they have 4 lines for that if your lucky :p There is also a point about the media influencing thought process and manipulating views /clouding the truth....but that path is a very long and dubious one and might make me sound a bit paranoid! I do want to touch on the Michael Jackson thing for a second as well, (again musical genius) but it annoyed the crap out of me seeing the ridiculous news coverage today surrounding the death of Michael Jackson, meanwhile the US soldier that the Taliban claims to have gets 5 lines in the local paper.
