Transfer files without a tracker in utorrent
In this tutorial I will explain how to transfer files via utorrent without the use of a tracker
This is very useful to share large files with your friends or even download/upload files to your seedbox
So, let’s get started.
1. Check if the port you are going to use is open and if you are connectable.
http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=<port>

<port> = Port that you want to use.
2. Go to Preferences -> Advanced and set bt.enable_tracker to true
3. Create the torrent and in the “trackers” field put:
http://your_ip_address:port/announce
your_ip_address -> your computer’s ip address
port -> µTorrent’s listening port.
4. Enjoy!

Well you are using a tracker, but that’s uTorrent running on your pc. I had no idea uTorrent could do that!
Nice…
Well yea I am :p should have said no 3rd party tracker
Though yes its very useful for transferring to a local swarm, such as a multi network office.
I didn’t knew about this. Thanks for the info.
