Thanks Nexus, I just used Pacman because it was the first thing that came to my mind. I suppose if a person decides to download a file, just like any other site, it would be a good idea to check it for viruses before executing the file.

hey Sire rapidshare is actually file distribution site…like megupload, filehost etc…i.e. you can upload your files there are share with your friends.

I mainly used it to distribute a few OS hacks etc before I setup my own FTP.

re: ‘Pacman’ I got this result: http://rapidshare-search-engine.com/index.php?start=0&sformval=1&rval=798121444&s=pacman&s_type=0&s_submit=Search&what=1

and it gives you a list of files with the name pacman! though be vary; some of these files have been uploaded without permission and/or may be infected.

OK, you must remember that I may be a little past my prime and so the latest things on the net may tend to confuse me. Having said that am I right in surmising that rapid share is a search engine devoted to finding free software on the net? So if I was to use the term ‘pacman’ then I would be presented with sites that offer free versions of the game? I did actually try that search term and a lot of the stuff that came up made no sense whatsoever.
