Hi,

I have the same problem. I have the m2ts file and the audio file (demuxed with tsMuxeR) When I try to converte the m2ts in expression encoder 4, I have a Error Message.

@Rob

Can you give me a little Tutorial, how I can demux the audio with eac3to? Which Audiofile do I need? Is that the demuxed file with tsMuxeR? Is there a GUI ?

@Rob:

I was running into this issue with VC-1 HD-DVD rips. My problems were caused by the AC3 audio codec with Expression Encoder, regardless of ac3filter.

I suggest using eac3to to demux the audio to a multichannel wav, then mkvtoolnix to mux the video BD's vc-1 stream and your new wav to a mkv. Then import that into Expression 4. Also, Expression 4 SP1 has been released. Supposedly it helps with reading from some source formats as well as reliability with encodes.

Great guide! I have been using this process on all of my bluray's so that I can stream them to my Xbox. However recently I have encountered a problem I was wondering if you could help me with. Up until now all of the blurays I own have had the video in h.264 format, however I just encountered one encoded in VC-1. I can get the video to preview fine in Expression Encoder 4, but when I hit Encode I get an "Unknown error encoding file". I have tried this in Expression Encoder 3 as well and it just hangs on that version. Any ideas/suggestions?

This helped out a lot! Was having trouble with it all yesterday, but unselecting the Microsoft Codecs solved the issue. It is always the easy things.

Hey, Expression Encoder 3 is out which is also free. As a bonus, it now does WMA with 5.1 making the whole process much easier!
