Hey Lars; thanks for dropping by. I did actually try Fast Blog Finder a little while back when it was first emerging on the scene and was presently surprised by it. Though As I have mentioned above Free Blog Commenter is my app of choice at the moment as it gets the job done and has some nice fancy specs.

Also thanks for the link to catswhocode, that post did get to me via my rss but I didnt have time to fully review it.

Honest and good review!

I checked out the selling site for this tool before I came here and like you, I really do like the specs. It sounds exactly like the kind of tool you would like to have for this purpose. However, after reading your review I am turned off and don´t even find it worth a try as I will have to pay upfront and ask for a refund. Too much of a hazzle as I expect NOT to like it in the first place.

Well, well.. I have tried a program that is simpler in terms of specs but do work quite ok though in “Fast Blog Finder”. I found it via Catswhocode who wrote a general review on DoFollow and commenting blogs and since he recommended it, I checked it out:

I have downloaded the free version of the program (limited to 50 hits in the search results), but that´s ok for evaluation. So far, I think it is “pretty good” but not “amazing” so that is why I am checking out alternatives now before making any purchase decision on it. The search is quick for me though, but it´s a drawback it only works on PC.

I’ve made it a second nature now to search for reviews before buying any software; though then again you rarely see positive reviews on a software as only the complainers complain!!! So you still have to take a wild shot now and again!

Absolutly true it does not find related blogs at all! I bought the software after buying it I was using it and not finding any related blog for my keyword… After trying many times I tought Hmm I must be doing something wrong, so I searched the web for reviews of the software and found your blog. I should have searched for reviews first!

I would suggest you try out the program Free Blog Commenter ; which I have discovered recently, it is essentially the same principle as BCD but free!

Thanks for the honest review of Blog Comment Demon. I was tempted to buy BCD, but after reading your review I am going to put it on the back burner. It is still a contender, but there are still a few other programs to look at. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your advice. I’ve been searching for a similar software since I left the comment, and it seems that Blog Comment Demon is the best of this type of software – at least from the reviews I found. I’ll let you know what I think.

Hey Jens thanks for dropping by; the great thing about BCD is that it has a 28 day (I think) return policy if you dont like it. Since I have done the review it has gone through a number of fixes; So I would suggest to give it a go; and if you dont like Blog Comment Demon return it for a refund and if you do..whey hey a new powerful tool for your arsenal. Either way let me know how you find it

I’ve been thinking about buying Blog Comment Demon for a while, after reading your review I’m not so sure if I should buy it or not. I’m looking for a way to find related blogs to comment, and a way to organize them.

I’m also looking for a way to check back to see if my comments have been commented, since I enjoy conversations on blogs. Not sure if Blog Comment Demon will do this or not.

You hit it on the head straight away Bruce ‘personally’;

I personally did not like it; however if you read through some of the comments given by others they did. It’s about what you went in expecting and what it gave you. Maybe I expected to much from it; maybe I expected it to do what it was never meant to do. Who knows.

All I know I did not overly like it when I trialled it. If you use it every day that’s great; feel free to email me your version of the review and I’ll amend the post with it. After all a review with both extremes taken into account is better.

Thank you for pointing out the spelling mistakes; Just gone back and corrected the three that were there! In regards to the analogy I personally liked it.

I also hope you have a day job Bruce!

I personally like the product and use it on a daily basis. Is it perfect? No, but neither is anything else on the market. However, it works better than anything else I have found.

Your analogy, and your spelling, makes me wonder if you have the competence to evaluate any product:

@ Hanji; Glad you like it man; the issue was when I was testing it supposedly found ‘do-follow’ links, but when I actually went to the webpage to verify whether it was or not as I mentioned above it was not a lot of the times (think I fund 1 out of a few hundred supposed ones).

In regards to no-follow I agree no-follow links are also useful to have, and as mentioned by Jeff in Dealing with Google’s New Nofollow Policy . It is once place we have to keep an eye on.

Though glad you enjoyed the review, will keep your link here so to provide a balanced opinion.

I recently purchased this. I’m extremely pleased with this piece of software. Oddly, I’m having trouble with the proxy feature?? But, I’m not having a problem finding dofollow links as you are.

I think dofollow and nofollow links are important, but posting on nofollow links still helps in the big picture. How much.. I really don’t know, but I do see plenty of traffic from nofollow links as well as seeing rank increase in some niches where I posted on no dofollow sites?
